Old Man Winter has done it again. Because of the weather forecast, the Board has
decided to cancel our January meeting scheduled for today, January 26th, 2015.
The Kapitol Klowns have once again been invited to help entertain the children at Special Love Holiday Party for children with cancer on Sunday, December 7th. As in past years, the event is held at the Franconia Fire Station. Usually, the clowns do balloons and face painting for the guests. They are also welcome to arrive early to enjoy the lunch.

The Kapitol Klowns will participate in the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade in Silver Spring on Saturday, November 22nd. The parade begins at 10:00am and steps off from Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street and proceeds south on Georgia Avenue, ending at Silver Spring Avenue.
We are number B 32 – close to the beginning of the parade!! There are alphabetical units up to H so we are lucky this year. Please be there by 8:45 so we will be ready for sign in and step off. Please call me with any questions @301-520-4798.

We will have a guest lecturer at the Nov meeting. Mr. Keith Karas will be presenting ” Jazzing up your Puppet” 7:30pm at Riderwood village. You don’t want to miss this wonderful lecture from a Award Winning Clown.
FYI, the November meeting is on Monday, November 24th, 2014.
The change in meeting dates had been miscommunicated. The new date of the Kapitol Klowns meetings is the 4th Monday of each month. The location of the meetings is the Craft Room in the Town Center building, which is the large building at the bottom of the hill when you come onto the Riderwood property.

We regret to inform everyone that the Kapitol Klowns Mid-East Clown Convention planned for October 17th and 18th 2014 has been cancelled. We are sorry that the Alley could not get the support of enough members needed to plan and run the convention.
AUGUST MEETING IS CANCELLED. Many of the members will be away on vacation.
We had hoped for more people to attend the Monday July’s meeting held at Town Center – it was disappointing. Without your support, how can the club go forward successfully with the upcoming October Workshop. Not fair for Bob who has spent countless hours contacting all the vendors. Couple of months ago, there were “hands” who voted in favor of the workshop … the club needs your support and commitment now!
The club has another opportunity to participate, and get paid, for the Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade. Will you be available? See info:

I would love to have the Kapitol Klowns return this year. I would like for the Klowns to entertain on Russell Ave about 12:30 before the parade and when there are big gaps.
I would like maybe one or two klowns whichever you think will work to entertain the crowd for each designated area – between Walker Ave and Maryland Ave; between Maryland Ave and Montgomery Ave (entrance to the right of Asbury Village) and between the Asbury Village entrance to the end of parade where the public is located
